ATELIER: Ottó Szabó

Graphic artist and painter Ottó Szabó was born in 1965 in Rožňava (Rozsnyó). He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava (Pozsony) in 1994, majoring in free graphic arts. His practice spans sacral and monumental painting, sculpture, interior and exterior design, traditional and digital graphic work, book illustration, typography and pre-press; he is also involved in art and cultural organising as well as talent management. He is a co-founder and, for the past 28 years, a member of the Rovás community. In 2012, he founded the International Rovás Creative Community, which – among many projects –  is active in contemporary art initiatives, including the organisation of exhibition and thematic programmes.
